School-Centred Initial Teacher Training

2009-10

Primary 3-11 Course

You are considering embarking upon a challenging career. Developing children's social, personal and intellectual capacities is a responsible and rewarding task. The quality of your initial training is of paramount importance in developing the acquisition of effective teaching skills.

Selecting the course which suits you best is the first and most significant choice you make. The Shire Foundation offers you school-centred training through two programmes.

The PGCE programme is based in a consortium of Luton schools. The course currently offers twenty four places and applications should be made through the GTTR.

The Employment-Based route is the Graduate Teacher programme which has 50 places for salaried Graduate Teachers and applications should be made directly to the Shire Foundation.
