ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum academic requirements:

 

 

 

  • Good honours degree 2:2 or above in a core or foundation subject or a degree with appropriate and relevant modules. ("A" level in English, Maths or Science or equivalent preferred)

     

  • All trainees must have GCSE grade C or above in both Maths and English (or equivalent) and a science subject.

     

  • Trainees must demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly and grammatically in spoken and written English.  

     

If you have qualifications outside the UK you must produce an 'equivalency' certificate from Uk NARIC (National Academic Recognition Information)(www.naric.org.uk) 

 

It will be an advantage to show in addition to your academic qualifications:

   

 Evidence of:

 

Experience with, primary age children, eg in school or leisure groups, Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies, Cubs etc.

 

A range of interests, hobbies and skills both practical and intellectual.

 

 

 

 

 

  SELECTION

 

Trainee selection will take place between January and May.

      

Following this you will be asked to make a short presentation to the candidate group (approx 10mins) on a subject of your own choice; write not more than 500 words on a given title and have a personal interview with two members of the selection panel. At the interview the candidates also share a book with a small group of children

 

During the interview there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions.
